The area of the important industrial monument Stará čistírna in Bubenč will soon be enriched with a new gastro-provision focused on quality refreshments, but also on art, talks or lectures. The new operator of the Museum of Sewerage in the Old Cleaning House in Bubenč, the municipal company TCP a.s., has currently selected the tenant of the café and seasonal bar in the barn in an open tender: Petrohradská Collective. The new facility will be available for all visitors to the area from the end of this August.

"In addition to the highest rent, the successful bidder offered a strong dramaturgical plan and years of experience in running a cultural centre. The lease also includes a turnover rent of 7 percent of the venue's monthly turnover, which is why I wish them many satisfied customers," says Adam Zábranský, Prague's Councillor for Property, Transparency and Legislation. "TCP is preparing intensively for the complete takeover of the Old Sewage Treatment Plant, which will take place on 1 August 2024. We are also preparing a new booking system for tours and fine-tuning other details that we will introduce in the summer," says Marta Pražáková, Vice-Chairwoman of the TCP Board of Directors. The bidders competed not only on the basis of the rent. A significant role in the evaluation of the bids was played by the business concept and the ability to create a natural background for culture and relaxation in the Old Cleaning House, thus attracting people from the surrounding area and the whole of Prague. The new tenant also operates an artist residency for foreign artists on the grounds of the nearby Chittussi Hospital and would like to take advantage of the connection between the two operations and the familiarity of the surrounding area. The subject of the lease is the café and barn space, which also includes the use of nearly half a hectare of grassy area above the structurally unique underground tanks from the early 20th century. The halls inside the Old Sewage Treatment Works can also be used for larger social events. A detailed tender specification including further information is available here.
